A petition for start of school year from September 1 was posted on Change.org website.
Its author considers the change in the usual period of study from September 1 to May 25 to September 15 to June 9 inappropriate.
«The authorities did this, allegedly, in order to extend the holiday season. But our sharply continental climate does not allow us to make any weather forecasts, especially in autumn. The end of spring and the beginning of summer are always hot in our country, children and teachers suffer from stuffy heat. They are mentally tired because they are used to the previous schedule,» the petition says.
Earlier, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Rasul Avazbek uulu said that they also receive complaints from parents and educational institutions. «The minister instructed to consider risks, dangers and priorities. We will let you know about the decision,» he said.
The Ministry of Education intends to conduct a survey in schools, and then discuss the issue.
