Chairman of Cabinet promises to spare no expense on education and healthcare

In the next 30 years, the state will spare no expense on education and health care. The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov announced at the forum «Migration and Development: Prospects and New Opportunities.»

According to him, the Kyrgyz youth should be competitive, have skills that are in demand in the big world, and it is desirable to speak English in order to work around the world while living in Kyrgyzstan.

«We have been investing 2.6 billion soms in power industry for 30 years, but today we have a shortage of electricity. We invested in roads that need to be rebuilt as a 20-year cycle has passed. We supported the budget instead of focusing on our internal sources — we are doing it now. We borrowed money to support the budget — also about $ 2.5 billion — in exchange for some theoretical reforms in certain sectors. So, in the future, we refuse to support the budget. All money will be directed to education and healthcare,» the official said.

He noted that investors would be attracted to develop power industry, build roads and implement reforms.

«We are opening the doors for private business in the energy sector, only transport companies will remain in the hands of the state. We open the way for investors for the construction of roads. If by 2021 we have attracted $11.4 billion for the development of sectors, then in the next 30 years we would like to attract at least $20 billion in education and healthcare,» the head of the Cabinet said.
