Akylbek Japarov calls for thorough preparation for 2022 tourist season

Issyk-Kul ITF 2022 International Tourism Exhibition was opened in the city of Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul region. The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan attended the opening ceremony.

Akylbek Japarov noted that a large influx of tourists is expected this year and it is necessary to thoroughly prepare for the upcoming tourist season.

«We will make every effort to preserve the ecology and cleanliness of Issyk-Kul lake. As it is known, Kumtor mine was completely transferred to the state. Now we will pay even more attention to reducing environmental risks. According to a presidential decree, resorts and sanatoriums around the lake will not work if they do not have treatment facilities. Those who pour off wastes into the lake and think that no one will see or know about it are mistaken. Total control over the execution of this decision will be established. By another presidential decree, a National Council for the development of tourism was established. Its first meeting will take place tomorrow. In order to promote the development of tourism infrastructure, a Tourism Fund has been created with an authorized capital of 1 billion soms,» he said.

Domestic and foreign tourist organizations, resorts, guest houses presented their products and services within the framework of the event. There are also ethnic and national games, craft master classes and an evening cultural program for guests and participants.

ITF 2022 is an annual meeting place for representatives of relevant government agencies, international travel companies, tour operators, airlines, public transport companies, hotels and media. The purpose of the international exhibition-fair is the formation and further development of the country’s tourism industry, establishment of business contacts between tourism enterprises of different countries, attracting foreign tourists by promoting tourism potential in international markets, promoting investment in tourism in the Kyrgyz Republic.
