Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobayev inspected a number of irrigation facilities in Chui region.
He got acquainted with the project on construction of the second stage of the bypass Chui canal, the projects of construction of Boroldoi water reservoir and a reservoir on Shamshi river. Their construction will increase the supply of already existing areas with water and provide new irrigated lands, improve irrigation in Chui region as a whole. The process of preparing a feasibility study for these projects is ongoing.
The official also visited Atalyk oil plant, the testing area of the company, where grape seedlings are grown and a drip irrigation system is used, inspected progress of construction of the bridge over the Big Chui Canal, where the bank piers on the southern side are now complete, and got acquainted with Aqua Service fishery.
According to Talgat Ukubaev, Deputy General Director of Atalyk Agroindustrial Holding, the organization trains farmers in using the drip irrigation system. «The drip irrigation system has high efficiency and allows rational use of water resources. It is not difficult to use the equipment at all. The most important thing is to know some technical points, how much moisture a certain crop requires and how often irrigation is necessary. We design drip irrigation systems for farmers, select appropriate equipment and give consultations on its use,» he said.
