Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov met with the Managing Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Central Asia Zsuzsanna Hargitai. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
The parties discussed topical issues of interaction and bilateral cooperation. Akylbek Japarov noted priorities of the Cabinet of Ministers. He stressed that long-term strategic priorities for the republic are development of green economy, maximum resource and energy saving, use of alternative and renewable energy sources, contribution of the country to international efforts on prevention of consequences of global warming.
Zsuzsanna Hargitai mentioned the success of the recent forum on transformation of the energy sector of the country, which presented the priority directions of development of the sector. She also noted the anti-crisis measures prepared by the Cabinet of Ministers and congratulated the Kyrgyz side on reaching the agreement on Kumtor mine.
The parties discussed priority areas of cooperation, particularly implementation of projects in the fields of irrigation, agriculture and energy. They confirmed the readiness for further implementation of previously reached agreements. The representative of the financial institution expressed readiness to provide advisory support to the country in projects on development of agrobusiness, construction of solar and wind power plants.
