Protest against aggression is taking place in Bishkek near the building of the Embassy of Tajikistan in Kyrgyzstan.
«We have always had border problems. But our neighbors have never killed our citizens with mortars. The Tajik military shoot at our houses. Stop solving your domestic political problems at our expense. Batken is our land,» participants of the rally announced.
Another shootout occurred at night of April 12 on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. The border guards of the Republic of Tajikistan opened fire on the servicemen of the Kyrgyz Republic at about 9.17 p.m. during a meeting of border representatives of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, who arrived at the scene of the incident as a reinforcement. After midnight, the parties agreed to withdraw additional forces to the points of their permanent deployment. President Sadyr Japarov commented on the conflict the day before.
