Border conflict: Japarov calls not to insult leaders of neighboring countries

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov commented on the conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border on Facebook.

«We will not move from the democratic path. Freedom of speech and human rights will certainly be preserved and respected. In our country, everyone can say whatever they want and participate in various rallies. There are no restrictions,» the head of state wrote.

He turned to journalists and «those who call themselves bloggers».

When it comes to conflict issues with neighboring countries, do not allow yourself to spread different video and photo materials that distort the information and insult the leaders of these countries.

Sadyr Japarov

«This does not meet the moral and ethical norms. By doing so you are aggravating the situation and provoking a quarrel between the two peoples. Yes, there is a problem of borders,» he noted.

The President stressed that the problem of borders has not been resolved for 30 years and requires great caution and prudence. Negotiations are underway. «There are a lot of disputed kilometers. It will take time. God willing, I intend to resolve this issue before the end of my presidency,» he wrote.

Sadyr Japarov urged not to spread false information «under the guise of freedom of speech.» «A month ago, a fake account spread information that Kyrgyzstan allegedly began transferring heavy military equipment and soldiers to Ukraine. There were also citizens who spread such information through the official media... It is a shame to do this. Kyrgyzstan is being misrepresented to the world community,» he believes.

If you want to be the opposition, be it for me personally, leave the country alone. Do not play with war. May God protect our people from war.

Another shootout occurred yesterday night on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. The border guards of the Republic of Tajikistan opened fire on the servicemen of the Kyrgyz Republic at about 9.17 p.m. during a meeting of border representatives of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, who arrived at the scene of the incident as a reinforcement. After midnight, the parties agreed to withdraw additional forces to the points of their permanent deployment.
