A ceremony of handing over 32 new Niva vehicles to the Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Centers of the Ministry of Health took place in Bishkek.
A total of 69 vehicles have been purchased this year within the COVID-19 Emergency Response project, funded by the World Bank. The first batch was handed over to centers’ branches.
The goal of the project is to support Kyrgyzstan in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
«Many facilities of the branches of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Centers are located at a significant distance from district centers. The radius of service of some sites reaches 100 kilometers of hard-to-reach terrain. They have had great difficulties with transportation. These highly passable vehicles will also be used to deliver medicines and transport biomaterial for PCR tests,» the Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said.
