The Ministry of Education of Kyrgyzstan proposed to punish for showing disrespect for a teacher. The relevant amendments to the Code of Offences were submitted by the ministry for public discussion.
As the background statement says, at present, the number of cases of disrespectful attitude of students towards teachers, insults and even attacks on teachers in their professional activities by students and their parents (legal representatives) has increased. The ministry notes that this leads to a significant decrease in the availability of education, lowering of the special legal status of teachers in society, guaranteed by legislation in the field of education.
Over the past decade, the student and parent community has shown an unprecedented extreme hatred for the education system in general and teachers in particular.
