A round table «Presentation of results of study of remedies for domestic violence existing at the national level» was held in Bishkek. Press service of the President reported.
According to it, the Commissioner for Children’s Rights Asel Chynbaeva participated in the event. She drew attention to the persisting problem of domestic violence in Kyrgyzstan.
«Violence in the family as the basic unit of society undermines the foundations of not only the life of the family, but also threatens security of the society itself. The victims of violence are most often children and women, and sometimes even men,» she said.
Asel Chynbaeva emphasized the importance of this round table, noting that an effective policy against domestic violence is possible only in case of cooperation and interaction between government agencies and society as a whole.
