Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov took part in the 4th meeting of the Council of Plenipotentiaries of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and khokims of the border regions of Uzbekistan.
Speaking to officials, he noted that the meeting of the Council of Heads of the border regions of the two countries has become a good platform for prompt resolution of emerging issues and urgent tasks of bilateral cooperation between the border regions.
«There is a large unused potential between the two countries in the trade and economic sphere, and therefore there is a need to take specific practical measures to establish direct contacts between the regional administrations and the business circles of our states,» the head of the Cabinet said.
He suggested considering implementation of industrial cooperation projects with the maximum use of the advantages and potential of the two economies for further export of joint products to third countries.
«The Kyrgyz Republic is working to improve its highways of international importance, create new logistics centers, as well as on their adaptation to regional and global traffic arteries. Reconstruction of railways within the country and their extending to transcontinental highways is on the agenda. The largest road project is the construction of China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railway. Its successful implementation will greatly improve the transit potential of our region,» Akylbek Japarov said.
He noted the great potential of the republic in the field of tourism and proposed to step up cooperation in the field of interregional tourism and pilgrimage.
«Within the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, I propose to create a Park of Kyrgyz-Uzbek friendship in Osh. I am sure that the park will become a good example of the manifestation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek centuries-old history of friendship and brotherhood of the two peoples, as well as a favorite vacation spot for citizens and guests of the ancient city,» the official noted.
He also outlined the importance of further strengthening of cooperation in the field of education and healthcare: expanding exchange programs between teachers and students, creating favorable conditions for the education of citizens in higher educational institutions of the two countries. As for the healthcare, the parties can cooperate in the field of prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, exchange of approaches to treatment and vaccination against coronavirus infection, and use of innovations in the field of medicine.
