Kalkan-2022 exercises: Sadyr Japarov about threats that cause concern

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov watches the course of Kalkan-2022 special tactical exercises. Press service of the President reported.

Speaking to the participants of the exercises, the Commander-in-Chief noted that, pursuing a policy of peace and good neighborliness, the country is making every effort to maintain stability in the region. According to him, modern challenges and threats are complex and interregional in nature.

«The continuing high level of terrorist and religious extremist threat to the states of Central Asia is of particular concern, especially in connection with the situation in Afghanistan. This is due both to the possibility of penetration into the republic of emissaries and militants aimed at destabilizing the socio-political situation, and the presence of a deeply conspiratorial underground organizations. In this context, it is necessary to implement a set of state measures aimed at developing a national security system capable of promptly and adequately responding to existing and predicted threats,» Sadyr Japarov said.

He believes that it is necessary to work together with all neighboring countries to prevent threats.

«Our republic is pursuing a policy of peace and good neighborliness with all neighboring states and is making every effort to maintain stability in the region. Law enforcement and intelligence agencies continue to identify and neutralize members of international terrorist organizations and adherents of extremist movements. Today’s exercises are the result of careful operational, information-analytical, command-staff and organizational-tactical work. The active phase of the exercises clearly confirms our readiness to take adequate measures to respond to any threats to national security,» the President said.

According to him, in order to ensure national and regional security, a number of decisions were made and relevant instructions were given, which significantly increased the potential of security and law enforcement agencies and determined their pace of development.
