SCNS employees extradite leader of Hizb ut-Tahrir cell to Uzbekistan

As part of detection and suppression of religious extremist and terrorist groups, subversive activities of a foreign citizen, the leader of Hizb ut-Tahrir religious extremist organization for southern region of Kyrgyzstan, who organized an illegal extremist network, have been stopped. Press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.

According to it, the detainee is the regional head of Hizb ut-Tahrir in the Republic of Uzbekistan. He actively carried out illegal activities with like-minded people to create and strengthen the structures of the banned organization in the southern regions of the Kyrgyz Republic and the border regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In the course of investigative and operational activities carried out as part of pre-trial proceedings, it was established that the man had been on the wanted list in Uzbekistan for more than ten years and tried to hide in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic. The SCNS extradited him to Uzbekistan.
