State Border Service, Emergencies Ministry receive new special equipment

The State Border Service of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan received new special equipment. The handover ceremony took place on Old Square and the central Ala-Too Square in Bishkek.

The Emergency Situations Ministry received 58 fire trucks. It was made possible thanks to the project «Enhancing Resilience to Natural Disaster Risks in Kyrgyzstan», financed by the World Bank.

It is noted that such a large-scale renovation of the firefighting vehicle fleet had not taken place since 2008. The vehicles will be sent for service to fire stations in regions of the country.

The State Committee for National Security received SBM-233136 Tiger armored vehicles that are designed for transportation of personnel, different cargos and systems. The vehicles were purchased at the expense of the state budget.

President Sadyr Japarov spoke at the ceremony. He stressed that state security begins with border protection.

Kamchybek Tashiev, head of the SCNS, Boobek Azhikeev, Minister of Emergency Situations, and other military officials also attended the event.
