Special department on countering synthetic drugs, drug threat in IT sphere and legalization of drug proceeds of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has blocked access to 30 online stores in Kyrgyzstan that spread drugs. Press service of the department reported.
The department was established in August last year. During this time, its staff managed to detect 60 drug crimes.
«Together with colleagues from Russia and Kazakhstan, international operations were conducted to eliminate transnational drug groups. More than 65 kilograms of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances were seized.
A large-scale supply channel from Kyrgyzstan to Russia was established, during liquidation of which more than 39 kilograms of hashish from Afghanistan were seized. Drug laboratories used for the production of synthetic drugs were eliminated and more than 30 kilograms of psychotropic substances were found,» the statement says.
During the operation, online stores selling drugs have been identified and access to 30 of them has been blocked. Employees of the department constantly monitor social networks and messengers.
«For example, thanks to the monitoring in December last year, officers of the department eliminated a drug laboratory worth 10 million soms for the manufacture of synthetic drugs. To date, its organizers and those involved in the distribution of drugs have been identified,» the Interior Ministry said.
Continuous training of the department’s staff is being carried out with the assistance of international donors and colleagues.
