Mining farm discovered in basement of hotel in Bishkek

Another mining farm was detected in Bishkek. Press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.

A 25-year-old man organized illegal activities for cryptocurrency mining by creating mining farms connected to the electrical networks of Severelectro OJSC.

The mining farm with more than 150 pieces of equipment for cryptocurrency mining was found in the basement of Quiet Castle Hotel.

«Taking into account the shortage of electricity in the country, the National Energy Holding has imposed a temporary ban on issuance of technical specifications for cryptocurrency mining, so the farm functioned illegally. The investigation is ongoing,» the statement says.
