To strengthen Kyrgyz-Swiss relations, Akylbek Japarov proposed to organize an official visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan to Switzerland in 2022. The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers said it at a meeting with the delegation of the country.
Akylbek Japarov received a delegation of the Swiss Confederation led by Patricia Danzi, Director General of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, and discussed the status and prospects of the Kyrgyz-Swiss partnership in trade and investment, financial, technical and humanitarian spheres. He congratulated the Swiss delegation on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states.
«Switzerland remains an important foreign policy partner for the republic. We highly appreciate Switzerland’s assistance in the establishment of democracy, market economy, social development in our country,» the head of the Cabinet said.
Akylbek Japarov also informed the delegation about the ongoing social and economic reforms and implementation of the medium-term national program for development of the republic. He welcomed the approval by the government of the Swiss Confederation of a new medium-term economic cooperation program with the Kyrgyz Republic and confirmed the readiness of the Kyrgyz side to fully support the ongoing projects and programs in the country.
In turn, the head of delegation Patricia Danzi said that the Swiss Confederation highly appreciated the friendly relations with Kyrgyzstan. She confirmed Switzerland’s interest in active cooperation to support socio-economic and democratic development of the republic, environmental protection and climate sustainability, conservation of glaciers and water resources and other priority areas of the Cabinet of Ministers.
