A government delegation of Switzerland arrived to Bishkek. The Embassy of the country in Kyrgyzstan reported.
The purpose of the visit is to strengthen cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic and get acquainted with the results of projects financed by Switzerland and implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Swiss government is represented by an Ambassador Patricia Danzi, Director General of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and an Ambassador Dominique Paravicini, head of Economic Cooperation and Development Department and delegate of the Federal Council for Trade Agreements of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). The representatives of Switzerland are also planning to learn more about the challenges that Kyrgyzstan is facing today.
The Swiss delegation will meet with Kyrgyz government representatives to discuss development and economic cooperation, as well as bilateral trade and investments. Meetings with representatives of the business sector, international organizations and civil society are also planned.
The delegation will visit Swiss-funded development projects in various districts of Chui region, in particular in the fields of water supply, tourism, healthcare and local government, and see how the Swiss projects have helped improve the quality of life of the people involved in them.
