Foreign Minister invites UAE to introduce visa-free regime for Kyrgyzstanis

Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev offered the authorities of the United Arab Emirates to introduce a visa-free regime for Kyrgyzstanis. Press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry reported.

The minister Ruslan Kazakbaev held talks in Abu Dhabi with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as well as with the Minister of State to the UAE Cabinet Ahmed Ali Al Sayeghб on an extensive agenda of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.

The parties agreed to develop a roadmap for joint actions and activities aimed at the practical implementation of mutual intentions and plans, including the earliest possible holding of regular inter-MFA political consultations and meetings of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission.

Ruslan Kazakbaev noted the importance of the soonest creation of a joint Kyrgyz-Emirati Investment Fund in order to support and implement projects in the fields of tourism, agriculture, energy, subsoil use, mortgage lending for the construction of affordable housing for the population of Kyrgyzstan.

The parties also noted the need for further development of passenger and cargo air transportation between the two countries.

Along with the interest of the parties in expanding cooperation in the financial sector, the importance of introducing Islamic financing mechanisms was also expressed.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic also proposed to concentrate joint efforts on the development of projects to introduce a green economy and projects in the field of environmental and climate protection.

Ruslan Kazakbaev turned to his Emirati counterpart with a request to expedite the ratification and entry into force of the previously signed Treaty on the Transfer of Convicted Persons between the Kyrgyz Republic and the UAE.

The minister also submitted a proposal to the Emirati side on the possibility of introducing a visa-free regime for Kyrgyzstanis, and also asked to consider the possibility of creating more favorable conditions for Kyrgyzstanis working in the UAE by the Emirati authorities.

In addition, the head of the Foreign Ministry of the Kyrgyz Republic called on the Emirati partners to consider the possibility of opening centers of Arab culture, joint universities, joint Kyrgyz-UAE schools and vocational lyceums in Kyrgyzstan.

Ruslan Kazakbaev emphasized the interest of the Kyrgyz side in using the deep practical experience of the UAE government in the fight against corruption and international terrorism.

Following the talks, the parties signed a protocol on holding political consultations and developing cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries. The protocol signed by the parties provides for the intensification of cooperation between the two countries in the field of investment, bilateral trade, tourism, exchange of information and experience, consultations on the international agenda and trade and economic issues, as well as on mutual support within the framework of international organizations.
