The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev received the Ambassadors of Germany Gabriela Guellil and FranceFrancois Delaus. Press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry reported.
The meeting took place on the initiative of the heads of diplomatic missions. The parties discussed the current situation in Ukraine.
«In particular, the Ambassadors of Germany and France outlined the positions of their countries on this issue. Ruslan Kazakbaev noted the importance of further avoiding casualties among the military and civilians. He stressed the need to look for new formats and mechanisms of negotiations for the participants in the process of resolving this conflict on the platforms of such authoritative international organizations as the UN Security Council and others,» the ministry noted.
The Foreign Minister said that the ministry was actively working on the evacuation of citizens of Kyrgyzstan from Ukraine.
«Given the closure of Ukraine’s airspace, Ruslan Kazakbaev asked his European colleagues to consider the possibility of creating a «green corridor» for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic through the European states neighboring Ukraine. In addition, the diplomats also discussed issues of Kyrgyz-German and Kyrgyz-French cooperation both in bilateral and international formats,» the ministry added.
On the night of February 24, Vladimir Putin officially announced start of a military special operation in Donbas. An extraordinary meeting of Russia’s Security Council was held in Moscow on February 21 to discuss the issue of recognizing the independence of the DPR and LPR. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the decree.
