Akylbek Japarov: Last year set trend for recovery of EAEU economies

«Last year set a trend for the recovery of economic activity and our economies began to recover from the pandemic crisis,» the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov said today at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in an expanded format.

According to him, despite the ongoing pandemic, the growth of trade protectionism and the difficult socio-economic situation in the world, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) closed 2021 very fruitfully. The all-Union GDP growth in January-November 2009 was at the level of 4.4 percent, which is higher than the world average. Industrial production in the EAEU increased by 5.1 percent for the same period.

«The volume of foreign trade with third countries increased by 34.3 percent, including the export of goods by 42.5 percent. The volume of mutual trade has grown by a third, and the growth of export is observed in all member states of the EAEU. Recovery of economic activity is the result of our joint actions to counter the pandemic, ensure the free movement of goods and create conditions for business in the crisis situation,» Akylbek Japarov stressed.
