1.4 million people vaccinated with first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Kyrgyzstan

At least 1.4 million people have been vaccinated with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Kyrgyzstan. Director of the Republican Center for Immunoprophylaxis of the Ministry of Health Gulbara Ishenapysova told at a press conference in Bishkek.

«The first stage of vaccination against coronavirus started in March 2021. According to the plan, priority groups were mainly vaccinated — medical workers, social workers, teachers, law enforcement officers, people with chronic diseases. Coverage of medical workers with the second dose reached 80 percent, education workers — 80 percent. Coverage of the population above 60 with the second dose is 31 percent,» she said.

To date, 1,424,068 people have been vaccinated with the first dose, 1,151,374 people — with the second dose.

Vaccination of all interested citizens, who have previously received a full course of primary vaccination against COVID-19, with a booster dose began in Kyrgyzstan on December 20,2021. At least 110,995 people were vaccinated with the booster dose of the vaccine.
