Beating of child in Sokuluk: Boy discharged from hospital

The boy, who suffered from abuse in Sokuluk district, was discharged from the hospital. The Director of the

Child Rights Defenders’ League Public Foundation Nazgul Turdubekova reported.

«I have good news: Egor was discharged from the hospital. The state authorities handed him over under temporary guardianship to his grandmother Natalya. Charity organizations rented a comfortable apartment for them until the end of the investigation. He has a long rehabilitation ahead; I wish him a speedy recovery! Our organization continues to provide legal assistance to the child,» she wrote.

The two-year-old child was admitted to the Sokuluk Territorial Hospital on February 3 after he was beaten. Hematomas were registered on his body. A criminal case has been opened on the fact of torture. The police detained 34-year-old man. The suspect in the brutal beating of the child was arrested for the duration of the investigation.

The boy is 20 months old. The Ombudsman’s Office reported that the suspect constantly beat the boy and his father and repeatedly shot at the legs of the latter with an air rifle. The reason for the abuse on the part of the employer was a debt.

Earlier, the Director of the Child Rights Defenders’ League Public Foundation Nazgul Turdubekova said that the boy and his sister did not have any documents.

The child’s mother and father were restricted in their parental rights until the end of the investigation, the children were handed over to their grandmother (father’s mother) for temporary care.
