Passage of a medical examination and fingerprint registration in Russia is not considered as a barrier within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Deputy Foreign Minister Aziz Madmarov announced at a meeting of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense, Security and Migration of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan.
According to him, work is underway on this issue with the Russian government and within the EAEU.
«Within the union, we received a response to a request from the Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan, which says that this is not a barrier. But we will raise the issue in March at a meeting of the intergovernmental commission with Russia,» the deputy minister said.
The official noted that the requirement of a medical examination and fingerprint registration in Russia does not apply to citizens of Belarus, since it is a union state as well as the Russian Federation.
«The law on medical examination has been adopted. It is doubtful that Russia can abolish it for us,» Aziz Madmarov said.
In 2022, Russia introduced a mandatory medical examination for all foreign citizens, including those from the EAEU countries.
