At year-end 2021, the volume of imports of sunflower oil from Russia into Kyrgyzstan decreased 3.5 times — from 98,000 to 28,000 tons. The National Statistical Committee provided such data.
At the same time, the volume of product imports from Kazakhstan increased. If in 2020 it was 8,500 tons, then last year it was already 11,100.
In addition, Kyrgyzstan buys oil from Azerbaijan, Belarus, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkey and even the United States.
In total, Kyrgyzstan imported 39,300 tons of sunflower oil for $46.4 million last year. Compared to 2020, volumes of deliveries decreased 2.7 times, but their cost increased by $10 million.
