President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov received the Minister of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics Sergei Glazyev. Press service of the head of state reported.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov also took part in the conversation. An exchange of views took place on topical issues of joint activities within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic of the bodies of the Union in 2022.
Sadyr Japarov once again noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to the issues of integration within the framework of the EAEU. This is one of the priorities of the country’s foreign policy. «It is important to dedicate the year of the republic’s chairmanship of the association to strengthening investment and cooperation partnerships, expanding trade and economic ties and developing transport corridors,» he said.
The President also recalled that earlier the heads of the EAEU states decided to hold the Eurasian Economic Forum in Bishkek in May this year. He noted the need for close joint work between the Cabinet of Ministers and the EEC.
In turn, Sergei Glazyev told the head of the Kyrgyz Republic that he had been appointed head of the Program Committee of the Eurasian Economic Forum and it was necessary to adopt its program. He also said that much attention has been paid to innovative projects that could become symbols of Eurasian integration. An exhibition of the best achievements of the EAEU member countries is planned.
Sergei Glazyev noted that this would be the first Eurasian Economic Forum, which is important to be held at the highest level.
During the conversation, the importance of accelerating economic development, developing proposals for optimizing credit mechanisms, and supporting investment activity was noted. Concluding the meeting, Sadyr Japarov awarded Sergei Glazyev with Danaker Order.
