Musician Vikram Ruzakhunov was diagnosed with broken ribs, concussion and other serious injuries. He himself wrote on Instagram.
The Kyrgyzstani told that after an examination, he was taken to the intensive care unit and underwent surgery.
«Since then I have been undergoing treatment, I have been in three hospitals. Only family and medical staff saw how much pain and anguish I had to go through. Until today I had no idea what kind of resonance that silly move by Kazakhstan’s media with the sensational video had caused, because during my arrest they took away my cell phone, all my belongings, money, ID card, driver’s license, bank card — nothing was returned, everything mysteriously disappeared. Now, when my condition is more or less stabilized, I have a full picture of what happened. Please don’t think that I’m trying to arouse compassion,» he said.
The musician noted that his official statements were made for the sake of those who are still being held hostage in Kazakhstan. Most of them have families, children, many are the only breadwinners for their elderly parents, sisters with disabilities.
«I would like to say the media representatives right away, I’m not allowed to give any interviews, so don’t bother my family, relatives and friends. I will write a separate gratitude post and try to mention everyone who have made the efforts, who was not indifferent, who was sincerely concerned about my detention,» he concluded.
A video was published recently, in which a man says that he came to Kazakhstan to participate in a rally in Almaty. The man was recognized as the head of a jazz orchestra from Bishkek Vikram Ruzakhunov. Earlier, one of the local Kazakh TV channels showed a story, in which one of the detainees said that he came from Kyrgyzstan. The report says that some people called the Kyrgyzstani on January 1 and offered to participate in the rally for $200. He crossed the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border on January 10 at 6.40 p.m.
«All my evidence on the video is false. Bruises and scratches appeared on January 7, it was a harsh detention with the use of force,» the musician told reporters.
