Any professional activity carried out within the law, including journalistic one, should not be an excuse for any form of pressure. The President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov wrote on his Facebook page. This is how the head of state commented on the scandalous detention of a journalist Bolot Temirov.
In his opinion, it should be an impartial investigation, taking into account all the circumstances.
«I keep under control the case related to Bolot Temirov and others detained with drugs — they will be investigated fairly. At the same time, I would like to ask journalists to refrain from public slander and unsubstantiated accusations against anyone. Before saying something, it is important to clarify everything and understand the responsibility for what you say, and then speak,» he wrote.
According to Sadyr Japarov, «Kamchybek Kydyrshaevich explained in detail at the press conference that the accusations against him were completely false.»
«The activities of every state enterprise are no longer secret, as they used to be. Everything works openly. He correctly said that if necessary, create a commission of several opposition journalists and check, and we will create the necessary conditions for this. You have every opportunity to check. We have everything open. From now on the law should work equally for all of us, whether these are journalists, officials or ordinary citizens,» Sadyr Japarov summed up.
Police officers accompanied by special forces soldiers came to Temirov Live office in Bishkek. They detained Bolot Temirov and took him to the capital’s Department of Internal Affairs.
It became known that, along with Bolot Temirov, his colleague Bolot Nazarov was also detained.
Journalists associate the visit of the police officers with the professional activities of Temirov Live and the latest investigation into the fuel business of the family of the Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev.
A rally in support of Bolot Temirov and Bolot Nazarov took place near the Interior Ministry building yesterday.
