Situation in Kazakhstan: Kyrgyzstanis detained in Almaty released

Four Kyrgyzstanis detained in Almaty were released. A public figure Assol Moldokmatova reported with reference to the Consul General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Kazakhstan.

She posted a video on her Instagram. According to her, these are released from custody Zakir Yuburov, Adan Khurov, Ilyas Macho and Abdu-Rakhim Dzhinshanlo.

«Our native Kyrgyzstanis were released in Almaty. Consul General of the Kyrgyz Republic Nazarali Aripov sent the video,» she wrote.

The Kyrgyzstanis worked at a market in Almaty. They were detained on suspicion of participating in riots. However, according to them, they have nothing to do with the events. The Consulate General has been seeking their release from the first days of their detention.

Mass protests in Kazakhstan began on January 2, 2022. Residents of Zhanaozen and Aktau in Mangistau region opposed the increase in prices for liquefied gas, then the protests spread to other regions. The situation is slowly stabilizing; the anti-terrorist operation continues. Internet access has been restored.

President of the republic Kassym-Jomart Tokayev introduced a state of emergency in the republic, dismissed the government and became the head of the Security Council. At his request, the CSTO countries sent peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan. Scorpion special unit was sent to the republic from Kyrgyzstan.

The CSTO mission in Kazakhstan has been successfully completed.
