COVID-19: Measures on compliance with sanitary rules stepped up in Osh

Control over compliance with sanitary and epidemiological norms and rules has been tightened in Osh city. The municipality of the southern capital of Kyrgyzstan reported.

According to the Vice Mayor Venera Ryskulova, in order to maintain the current regime of teaching students in schools, it became necessary to step up measures to prevent the spread of viral infection, in particular, in educational, healthcare institutions, and crowded places.

Relevant services were instructed to:

  • To step up explanatory work on prevention of viral infections in healthcare and educational institutions, in the markets and mini-markets of the city with the obligatory observance of sanitary and epidemiological norms and rules until the epidemiological situation improves;
  • To step up explanatory work on vaccination and revaccination of the population, in particular among students of universities and colleges;
  • Municipal territorial administration of the city — to resume raids to step up explanatory work in the markets and catering points;
  • To step up explanatory work on compliance with sanitary norms and rules in institutions of the religious sphere, including during Friday prayers;
  • Until the epidemiological situation improves, to step up the work of mobile teams through allocation of additional ambulances for vaccination and revaccination, detection of coronavirus among residents of remote areas of the city;
  • To carry out work on the disinfection of educational institutions, health care, city markets;
  • The relevant departments were instructed to ensure the availability of a stock of medicines in warehouses.

Earlier it was reported that the work of the call center 118 will be stepped up in Bishkek. Operators will work from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., if necessary, the number of lines and mobile teams will be increased. On January 12, the Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev announced that Omicron strain was detected in Kyrgyzstan. A sharp increase in the incidence of coronavirus infection and community-acquired pneumonia is observed in the country after the New Year holidays.
