Kyrgyzstanis still not released in Kazakhstan, another note of protest filed

Kazakhstan has not yet released four citizens of Kyrgyzstan who were detained in Almaty. Press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed 24.kg news agency.

The Consulate General of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Kazakhstan once again sent a note to the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan for assistance in the release of the citizens.

«The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan gave permission to release four Kyrgyzstanis, permission of the Prosecutor General’s Office is awaited,» the Foreign Ministry noted.

Zakir Yuburov, Adana Khurov, Ilyas Macho and Abdu-Rahim Dzhinshanlo are in special institutions in Almaty. The Consulate General reported on January 11 that an agreement has been reached on the release of the Kyrgyzstanis.

It is known that all the detainees work at a market in Almaty.

Mass protests in Kazakhstan began on January 2, 2022. Residents of Zhanaozen and Aktau in Mangistau region opposed the increase in prices for liquefied gas, then the protests spread to other regions. The situation is slowly stabilizing; the anti-terrorist operation continues. Internet access has been restored.

President of the republic Kassym-Jomart Tokayev introduced a state of emergency in the republic, dismissed the government and became the head of the Security Council. At his request, the CSTO countries sent peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan. Scorpion special unit was sent to the republic from Kyrgyzstan.
