Five citizens of Kyrgyzstan were detained in Kazakhstan. Press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry reported.
As of January 9, the competent authorities of Kazakhstan confirmed detention of five citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry noted that the diplomats are in constant contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and the relevant state bodies of the country.
«The Embassy is constantly in touch with the citizens of Kyrgyzstan in Nur-Sultan, Aktobe, Atyrau, Aktau, Kostanai, Kokshetau, Petropavlovsk, Pavlodar, Karaganda. Work on the provision of consular and legal assistance is hampered by the ongoing anti-terrorist measures, the imposed restrictive measures on the movement of civilians and transport, and the lack of the Internet access. Humanitarian aid was provided to the citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic who are staying in Almaty and who find themselves in a difficult life situation,» the Foreign Ministry says.
The ministry reminds that in case of questions of a consular and legal nature, citizens of Kyrgyzstan staying in the territory of Kazakhstan, especially in Almaty, need to keep in touch with the Consulate General.
