Kyrgyzstan to study impact of polluted air on health

A study of the impact of air pollution on human health will be conducted in Bishkek. Press center of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reported.

According to its data, the Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev met with UNICEF Representative in Kyrgyzstan Christine Jaulmes. The parties discussed the results of projects implemented with the technical support of UNICEF, as well as further bilateral cooperation.

Christine Jaulmes told that a new five-year health system strengthening program will begin in 2022 in conjunction with the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) worth $3.5 million.

In addition, UNICEF plans to conduct two studies next year: an analysis of the use of funds at the primary level of the healthcare system and the impact of air on human health in Bishkek.

«Cooperation with the Ministry of Health is very important, because we want to look at morbidity rates over the past 15 years and will need the help of specialists. Next January, an extended meeting will be held with participation of all interested departments at the start this study,» Christine Jaulmes said.
