Bakiyevs give Alexander Lukashenko about $1.6 million for his patronage

The Bakiyev family gave the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at least $1.6 million in exchange for his patronage. Authors of the investigation by BYPOL, an association of Belarusian security services opposing the country’s authorities, came to such a conclusion.

Law enforcers named people who used to bribe the head of the country. Among them is Aizhan Kenenbaeva, the wife of Maxim Bakiyev, the son of the overthrown President of Kyrgyzstan.

The investigation says she handed over the money for protection and sheltering of the Bakiyev family in Belarus from justice awaiting them in their home country. «For the unwavering refusal of official Minsk to respond to Bishkek’s requests for extradition of the criminals,» the authors of the investigation claim.

According to them, thanks to the Bakiyevs, a Mercedes-Maybach S600 Pullman Guard, which costs at least €1.4 million, appeared in Alexander Lukashenko’s car fleet.

Speaking of the characteristics of the car, the investigators note that its armor is impossible to penetrate by an assault rifle fire, or even by detonating 15 kilograms of TNT.

A 2018 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, for $26,500, was also handed over through Maxim Bakiyev’s wife.
