Representatives of Butun Kyrgyzstan party and relatives of Orozaiym Narmatova held a rally in front of the Internal Affairs Department of the region in Osh city.
They demanded to release the woman and stop persecuting her for criticizing the authorities.
«Speeches by Orozaiym Narmatova are not even criticism, but today’s reality. She said the truth. We demand to release her,» the protesters said.
The protesters expressed their readiness to continue rallies in Bishkek.
Representatives of the Internal Affairs Department of the region came out to the protesters.
«We just received an investigative task to deliver Orozaiym Narmatova to the capital within the framework of pre-trial proceedings. She will be escorted to Bishkek today. This is not about detention and arrest. She was brought for interrogation. All other investigative measures will be carried out in the capital,» the Deputy Head of the Internal Affairs Department of the region, Abilbek Alymkulov, told.
Orozaiym Narmatova was detained at Osh airport. She tried to leave for Moscow. It is known that the activist came to the funeral of her brother.
