President Sadyr Japarov visits children repatriated from Iraq

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov got acquainted with the living conditions and the assistance provided to children returned from Iraq. Press service of the head of state reported.

At least 79 children — 38 boys and 41 girls — aged from 2 to 18 years old, repatriated from Iraq within the framework of Meerim humanitarian mission were accommodated in one of the children’s centers in Chui region.

The center has all the conditions for living and recreation. Children are provided with four meals a day. Police officers provide round-the-clock security.

Relevant specialists work on their resocialization for further handing over to relatives.

The children are now undergoing a rehabilitation course to return to a safe life.

The head of state inspected the building of the institution, bedrooms and a dining room, where he was shown the food that the children get.

Sadyr Japarov stressed that these children of Kyrgyz citizens who left for Iraq for various reasons survived consequences of hostilities in a foreign land, so they need to see that they will always find shelter, care and protection at home.

He said that the state would make every effort and use any resources to ensure safety, protection of the life and health of its citizens abroad. The President drew the attention of the relevant state bodies to strengthening work on rehabilitation and reintegration of the children into a full and safe life, drawing up an individual plan for protection and social support of the children and families.

Sadyr Japarov noted the need to provide widespread assistance in obtaining all guaranteed public services.
