Rally dedicated to anniversary of Great October Revolution held in Bishkek

A rally dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution was held in Bishkek near the monument to Lenin.

About 50 people came, holding banners and flags. They laid flowers at the monument and made a speech. The ex-deputy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan, Chairman of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan Iskhak Masaliev also spoke to the audience. Commenting on the latest political events in Kyrgyzstan, he noted that the current situation in the country was not easy. «A small group of people seized power. The current composition of Parliament is the weakest and most flexible, I would say that it is even a prostitute. The bed is still warm, and they already lie down under the other. The happened in the elections is the fault of capital. Money blurs the eyes of many people. Instead of looking at candidates’ skills, they look at their hands,» he said.

In the days of the USSR, all union republics celebrated the Day of the Great October Socialist Revolution on November 7. After gaining independence, most of the countries of the former Soviet Union stopped celebrating this holiday. Kyrgyzstan abandoned it only two years ago. But the revolution day was replaced by two new holidays. As president, Almazbek Atambayev signed a decree declaring November 7 and 8 the Days of History and Memory of the Ancestors.
