Deductions from National Bank's profit to be increased to 90 percent

Size of deductions from the profit of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan will be increased from 70 to 90 percent. Deputies of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan discussed amendments to the laws on the National Bank and on Banking Industry today.

Deputy Makhabat Mavlyanova said such changes are necessary, especially at a time when the budget is in deficit due to restrictions introduced in the framework of the fight against coronavirus. She asked: will loans of ordinary citizens, who are not engaged in business, will be written off?

The head of the National Bank Tolkunbek Abdygulov noted that deferral of payments has been introduced for up to three months.

«You are talking about businessmen, and I am talking about ordinary citizens. Commercial banks do not comply with your recommendations and demand interests,» Makhabat Mavlyanova said.

Representatives of the National Bank promised to regulate the issue.
