Saimaiti’s murder. SCNS states about bribery of journalists

Aierken Saimaiti, through journalists, tried to put pressure on Khabibula Abdukadyr to repay the debt. Deputy Head of the Investigation Department of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS), Sagynbek Samidin uulu, announced at a meeting of the parliamentary commission on investigation of the murder of the businessman Aierken Saimaiti.

According to him, Aierken Saimaiti left Kyrgyzstan due to a quarrel with businessman Khabibula Abdukadyr.

«Khabibula Abdukadyr demanded from Saimaiti $ 3 million, which he owed. Aierken Saimaiti did not recognize the debt and left Bishkek. Their disagreements have lasted for a long time. Saimaiti believed that it was Khabibula Abdukadyr who owed him. According to witnesses, he tried through journalists to put pressure on his former partner and return the money. He turned to Azattyk reporters, too,» Sagynbek Samidin uulu said.

Sagynbek Samidin uulu said that Aierken Saimaiti paid Azattyk reporters $ 100,000 for cooperation.

The deputies demanded a video confirmation of the interrogation of the witness by the SCNS.

Aierken Saimaiti was killed in Istanbul on November 10, 2019. He was shot dead in a cafe in Fatih area. After a photograph of Saimaiti with some Kyrgyz politicians was published, the Parliament decided to investigate his murder.

A journalistic investigation into smuggling and corruption at the Customs caused widespread public outcry. The publication stated that unknown entrepreneurs repeatedly threatened to kill the Chinese businessman Aierken Saimaiti in Kyrgyzstan, so he fled to Turkey.

The Prosecutor General’s Office of Kyrgyzstan opened a criminal case and entrusted an interdepartmental investigation group with the investigation.
