President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov met today with the Director of the Child Rights Defenders’ League Public Foundation, Nazgul Turdubekova. The Information Policy Department of the Presidential Administration reported.
They discussed implementation of measures to reform residential institutions for children. Nazgul Turdubekova noted that on the part of the non-governmental sector work continues to support government agencies in reforming orphanages and boarding schools.
At least 60 percent out of 14 recommendations addressed to the Government have been implemented, the rest are being implemented.
The President stressed the importance of continuing effective interaction of the non-governmental sector with state bodies aimed at strengthening the institution of the family, creating an enabling environment for the full development of children, support and protection of childhood.
The need to step up efforts to ensure proper social protection of children without parental care, orphans, children in difficult situations and with limited health capacities was noted.
