At least 2,456,000 children under the age of 18 lived in Kyrgyzstan at the beginning of 2020. The National Statistical Committee provided such data.
More than half of them (51 percent) are boys. Compared to the beginning of 2019, the number of children has grown by 75,000, or 3 percent.
The majority are children under 7 years old and from 7 to 14 years old. But there are only 13 percent of teenagers out of the total number of children in the country.
