Since the beginning of 2019, at least 768 vehicles with fake number plates have been revealed in Kyrgyzstan. Deputy Head of the Monitoring Center of the Main Traffic Safety Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Mederbek Shabdanov told at a round table discussion.
According to him, all vehicles were placed on an impoundment lot, and protocols were drawn up against the drivers.
The deputy head of the Main Traffic Safety Directorate Ymanaly Sarkulov noted that the Safe City system has detected many facts of use of fake and false state number plates, but an order on bringing to responsibility has not been drawn up automatically.
«These vehicles are not in the database yet. Therefore, we detain violators through the search system and, based on the article of the Code of Violations apply measures — we impose a fine of 10,000 soms,» he said.
Ymanaly Sarkulov added that the department proposed to toughen the punishment for using falsified or fake license plates to 20,000-30,000 soms, and for production — 30,000-60,000 soms. According to him, an appropriate bill has already been developed.
