Expensive drugs, equipment handed over to National Oncology Center

Charitable Foundation Help the Children-SKD donated three humanitarian cargoes worth 53 million soms to the National Center for Oncology and Hematology of Kyrgyzstan.

As head of the foundation Elena Koneva noted, all the departments of the center will receive expensive chemotherapy drugs, new-generation antibiotics, equipment and medical products.

The medications include 234 packages of Klofarabin, the price of which varies from €2,740 per package, 480 packages of Oksaliplatin, which patients have to buy for 4,120 soms, walkers for patients who underwent surgery. They are suitable for both adults and children. Their cost is 79,000 soms per item.

The foundation noted that blood pressure meters, a special table for taking blood tests, bright bandages with pictures of cartoon characters (Shrek, Fiona, emoji-emoticons), toothpaste, designer bandages, disposable surgical sponges and many other colorful medical products, which are also designed to cheer up little patients, were delivered from the USA.

Elena Koneva added that after distribution of the aid among the departments, lists of donated drugs would be drawn up, which then would hang in each department.

«Patients will be able to find out what drugs are available in the wards and that they are given for free. The same lists will appear on our website, on social networks,» she noted.
