3 kilometers of roads to be repaired in district centers of Kyrgyzstan annually

«At least 3 kilometers of roads will be paved with asphalt in each district center annually,» the President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov said today at a meeting with residents of Suzak district of Jalal-Abad region.

He noted that projects were being implemented to turn the Kyrgyz Republic into a transit country. According to the head of state, work is underway on an alternative Tunduk-Tushtuk strategic road.

Work on Bishkek — Naryn — Torugart road was completed. The third phase of the reconstruction of Suusamyr-Talas-Taraz road is nearing completion. The works on Batken — Kyzyl-Bel, Batken — Tortkul highway sections, parts of Osh — Isfana — Batken road were completed. The repair of sections of Kara-Balta — Bishkek and Madaniyat — Jalal-Abad roads will be completed in stages.

«Special attention is paid to internal roads. The task — to asphalt at least 3 kilometers of roads in each district center — has been set. In 2018, poor work was carried out in this direction. This year, the issue is under special control of the government,» Sooronbai Jeenbekov added.
