Violence occurs in every third family in Kyrgyzstan. Deputy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Aida Kasymalieva told at a round table discussion.
According to a study, 72 percent of children said that they had been subjected to any form of violence, 50 percent experienced insults from family members, 39 percent were subjected to psychic violence, 37 percent — to physical abuse, 1.6 percent — to sexual abuse.
«Experts believe that the main causes of violence against children are poverty, which leads to aggression, and unemployment, due to which parents are forced to leave their children with elderly parents, relatives, unfamiliar people and leave. In today’s situation, the state cannot protect and guarantee security, because there is no working mechanism, a response system, and prevention,» she said.
