Electricity and heating tariffs not to change in Kyrgyzstan

Tariffs for electricity and heating will remain the same in Kyrgyzstan. The Deputy Head of the State Agency for the Regulation of the Fuel and Energy Complex Mirgul Aidarova told 24.kg news agency.

According to her, the Prime Minister Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev instructed the agency to set the tariffs for electricity and heating for final consumers at the level of tariffs for electricity and heating that operated in 2017.

«The new tariff policy was not adopted, so it was necessary to legitimize the past one. Tariffs will not change until the adoption of a new medium-term tariff policy,» Mirgul Aidarova told.

The state agency plans to present new tariffs by the end of the first half of the year.

Since August 1, 2015, social tariffs for electricity have been set for the population in the amount of 77 tyiyns when consuming up to 700 kilowatt-hours, and more — 2.16 soms. The population pays 1,134.7 soms per gigacalorie for heating.
