Department of Registration of Vehicles under the State Registration Service issued driver’s licenses to mentally ill people. Prosecutor of the Department for Combating Corruption and Supervision over Execution of Laws of the Prosecutor General’s Office Chingiz Aidarov told at a press conference.
According to him, flagrant violations have been revealed during an inspection in the department. At least 20 criminal cases have been initiated.
«In particular, the department illegally issued driving licenses to persons with mental illnesses and those deprived of a driving license by a court decision,» said Chingiz Aidarov.
He added that the prosecutor’s office revealed the fact of illegal issuance of certificates of training at driving schools.
«Driving schools and lyceums, despite expired licenses, issued certificates of training. Criminal cases have been also initiated on these facts,» Chingiz Aidarov noted.
