The Constitutional Chamber recognized article of the Constitution of Kyrgyzstan on the immunity of the ex-president contradictory. Lawyer Nurbek Toktakunov informed 24.kg news agency.
According to him, earlier he challenged in the Constitutional Chamber a rule on the inviolability of the former heads of state.
«I asked to deprive the ex-presidents of immunity. It is necessary in order the incumbent head of state, Sooronbai Jeenbekov, being aware of the absence of immunity, to engage in judicial and law enforcement reforms. The Constitutional Chamber ruled that there were no procedures for the deprivation of this immunity. Parliament received a message on development of a procedure for deprivation of immunity,» said Nurbek Toktakunov.
Earlier, deputy Iskhak Masaliev initiated a bill on the deprivation of ex-presidents of Kyrgyzstan of their immunity.
