The President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov met with the parents of the deceased journalist Ulanbek Egizbaev and the Editor-in-Chief of Azattyk Media Burulkan Sarygulova. The Information Policy Department of the Presidential Administration reported.
The head of state expressed his condolences to the relatives of the journalist and the staff of the radio Azattyk, where Ulanbek Egizbaev worked.
The president stressed that the journalist, who died in July, actively supported the state policy in the fight against corruption, and added that he was well acquainted with the journalistic investigations of Ulanbek Egizbaev. They are among those cases that require special attention.
The Editor-in-Chief of Azattyk Media, Burulkan Sarygulova, told that Investigative Journalism Foundation named after Ulanbek Egizbaev had been established to work with public organizations. It will also train journalists.
«Journalistic investigations by Ulanbek Egizbaev have become an example for other media workers. The work begun by him will be continued and supported,» Sooronbai Jeenbekov assured.
