The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Kyrgyzstan is concerned about information in the media about cases of trafficking in newborns and the sale of children in orphanages and medical institutions in Bishkek. The UNICEF office reported.
«Trafficking in children and their sale is one of the most serious violations of their rights. UNICEF calls on the relevant Kyrgyz authorities to take all possible steps in accordance with the laws of the country to investigate each case and prevent them in the future,» the office noted.
